The issue may involve the location, protocol, or port. **If the settings are correct** but the problem occurs with only one exit IP, try another location or server, or contact your proxy provider. If you manually changed the User-Agent or other browser profile settings, restore the defaults and check access again. If the problem persists in only one browser profile, try clearing Reddit’s site data and logging in again. You won’t be able to use your account through them. ### Alternative Web Frontends Web frontends display Reddit content through a separate website. For example, Redlib, a continuation of the Libreddit project, lets you read discussions without Reddit’s usual interface. The Redlib server sends requests to the platform, while your browser receives a lightweight page without Reddit’s ads or scripts. Unfortunately, a different domain doesn’t guarantee access: it may also be filtered, and the frontend’s server may run into Reddit’s restrictions. To try this approach, choose a public server from the [Redlib list](https://github.com/redlib-org/redlib-instances) and open the discussion you need. If the server doesn’t respond or load comments, try another one. Keep in mind that these services’ availability changes, so don’t count on them as a permanent replacement for Reddit. ### Saved Pages in Web Archives If you need a specific thread — for example, an old discussion about a technical error — try the [Wayback Machine](https://web.archive.org/). It lets you view saved versions of pages even when the original page is unavailable, as long as someone saved it in time. Copy the discussion’s URL and paste it into the archive’s search field. If snapshots are available, choose a date and check whether the text you need was saved. In the Wayback Machine, you can look through multiple snapshots: a later one may include comments that weren’t there in an earlier version. ## Does Getting Reddit Unblocked With Proxy Break the Rules? **Connecting through a proxy isn’t automatically a violation**. But which restrictions you’re bypassing and what you’re doing on the platform matter. Opening a discussion when you’re having connection problems and returning to a subreddit where you were banned under another account are different situations. **Reddit [prohibits ban evasion](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043504811-What-is-ban-evasion), spam, and vote manipulation**. If you use a proxy for those activities, changing your IP doesn’t erase the violation and may result in additional bans. If you were banned by mistake, submitting an appeal is the better option. **Automated data collection has separate requirements**.
